The Purple Scarf is a collection of family mementos passed between members of one Crowley family in the United States.

What started as a simple gag gift in 1970, blossomed into a yearly (or sometimes more often) memento exchange. While feeling about the Scarf vary from joy to annoyance, the tradition has continued without fail (although with the occasional delay… Eddie…).

I began this website to memorialize the Purple Scarf, its contents, and the stories behind each piece. Unfortunately, some of the pieces have already been lost to time, but I hope this will preserve the rest moving into the future, in the event the Scarf is lost or damaged in one of its moves.

This will by no means be exhaustive, although I will try and be as complete as possible. I will also seek help from the rest of the family with the stories and meaning of some items. With all of that said, let’s begin…
